Well, remember that scene from A Bug's Life where Flik plucks a seed off of a dandelion and floats around on it? This is essentially the same concept. You have to get waaaaaay over there, but there's no way to jump or climb to it. I don't know if he's creepier when he's sad or happy. Once you "tag" him, he gives you a power star. I'm sure that a regular person would immediately flee, but this thing has a power star, so I guess I'm gonna have to play tag.īasically, you have to run around the big tree and chase this thing. This lonely little abomination wants to play with you because has no friends. You just have to hop across these platforms and collect the 8 red coins. I mean, look at this! This looks like it could have been on the Gamecube! A real N64 console definitely couldn't handle these graphics. In this mission, you have to go inside this big tree and climb it. I don't think the health bar should have been changed, because this gets annoying after a while.įinally, I killed the Tap-Tap with the key. Instead of having 8 health like in the original game, Mario only has 6 health in Last Impact. The swamp is annoying because it's basically quicksand, so you have to keep moving to get out of it.Īlso, there's something else different about this hack. You can only beat them by luring them into the swamp, and doing that requires falling into it and making the Tap-Tap fall in after you. They would chase Yoshi and he couldn't eat them or damage them with eggs. Tap-Taps are also from Yoshi's Island, and they were annoying. Now I have to rescue a lost rabbit from the Tap-Taps. Luckily, if you fall off, the wind catches you and blows you back to the first bridge. Getting this star requires walking along these bridges while avoiding the Fuzzies and being buffeted by gales of wind. How did Kaze implement them here? Well, if you touch one of the fuzzies. The screen would distort and change colors, and Yoshi would control funny. They didn't deal damage, but touching them would basically put Yoshi on a drug trip. In case you don't know, Fuzzies (these white blob things) are enemies from Yoshi's Island on the SNES. There are a variety of creatures here, from wigglers to piranha plants to Fuzzies. She doesn't tell Mario where they are or how to get them or anything. Now that the threat has been neutralized, Peach tells Mario to collect the power stars with no context whatsoever. Suddenly, these two piranha plants threaten the Princess and her loyal servant. I've already 100%'d the game in this file.Īs soon as Mario walks out of the castle, meteors begin to rain down from the sky. At the start of the game, the file select screen has been replaced with a room in Princess Peach's castle where you choose a file by going through one of 4 doors.
